Baby boy bed skirt

Last night I finished the crib skirt. Originally I was going to wait to buy fabric for the decking, but I opted instead to use some left over fabric that I had. I can't wait to see how this looks on the crib with the rest of the set. Of course the green sheeting will really pull this entire set together.

For Baby Boy

Toby had work off yesterday for a State holiday (Pioneer Day), so he offered to let me sew all day long. Could life get any better? Okay so I didn't exactly sew all day, but I spent a good portion, sewing. This is the fruit of my labor. I did a bumper and a quilt for a darling little boy. I am very happy with how it turned out. I need to still work on a crib skirt, valance, and a sheet. (I might buy the sheet, but who knows, it all depends on the fabric.) Those will all be very easy up against these two. The problem with the bumper and the quilt is the batting. It is so fluffy and difficult to sew that you really have to take your time with every stitch to make sure that everything gets sewn properly. Then of course you have the weight of the items, trying to pull those puppies through my machine is not easy, especially with kids "helping" out. The fabric is Kona cotton and a poly blend cotton. Welcome Isabella

Okay I know this angel isn't exactly a sewing project, but I think she deserves a welcome on this site. We have made several things for her, so I am sure you will see pictures of her modeling them, but until then, here she is with her AMAMZING MOM. The birth went really well, and Melissa came through like the professional she is. She got her job done. Way to go Lissa, I am so proud of you and the job that you did. She is very beautiful, and I can't wait to see her again.

Wrap skirt for Kathy.

This is the final project that I had before my sewing project bin was emptied. Now I have nothing to sew. *sob* Yeah you should feel really sorry for me, sewing is my way out. Anyway this wrap skirt was made out of an embroidered linen fabric. The wrap skirt was very easy to do, but sadly I must report it doesn't fit my Mother in Law. This is the hardest thing about making things for other people, when you aren't there/they aren't there to fit the clothes to. Oh well I guess you win some you loose some. So now Melissa and I both have empty bins, no projects to do. No money to buy fabric. Nothing to make for our families (I think they are all tired of our stuff anyway) Any ideas people? Anyone need some sewing?? Halloween is coming up. Anyone.....someone....... *sob* WE MUST CONTINUE THE HABIT, OR WE WILL GO INTO WITHDRAWALS! *evil laugh*

For my stubborn Isabella

I made this lovely outfit for Miss Isabella. It is done with Egyptian cotton, with a white eyelet overlay. The shorts are lined with Egyptian cotton and the same cotton white eyelet is the top layer. It is trimmed with a shantung poly blend fabric (made to look like shantung silk, but who is dumb enough to make a baby something out of silk???), which will wash wonderfully. I know I already tested it. Anyway it has a really cute bow in the back to adjust for baby's size.

Above is the blanket and the outfit with the blanket. I hope that Melissa likes it as much as I do. I hope this will give Miss Isabella some motivation to come and join the rest of us. Enjoy.

Cherries Part Two

So I made a dress for Aiyana a while ago out of this cherry fabric. Melissa was going to use the dress and take it in for Kaity. Well she decided to go a whole different route and make the one you have already seen. So then I had this deconstructed dress. What to do with it. The top was pretty much no good to me, but the skirt, ahhh possibilities. I took the skirt, lined it with (yeah you guessed it) Egyptian cotton, put some elastic in the waist, and ta-da, a gorgeous skirt. What to do about a top? Again I went to my obsession E.C. and made her a tank style shirt with red buttons down the back. I trimmed the square neckline in red ribbon for a little umph. Perfect. The jacket is from her other cherry outfit. I didn't have enough red to make another jacket, and besides, I really didn't think I needed to! *grin*

Chandler's Work

Okay I know that this really isn't SEW WHAT worthy, but Chandler made this. He cut out all of the pieces and then pinned them together. He then brought his "treasure" to me and asked me to sew it together. I put him on my lap and let him "help" me. So I guess technically I sewed it, but it was his thing. He was so proud of the work that he had done and asked me to post it, so Chai this one's for you! *Smile*
