Summer flowers

We made this pink dress for Aiyana to hopefully last her though the summer.

The bow detail for the front of the dress. We also made two hair bows, but I didn't have clips for the back, so that will have to wait.

The back of the dress paired with a bolero jacket we made a while ago.

No I have not lost my ability to fit a dress. This one is big on purpose because I want it to last longer than one day of church. This dress is made from scraps from Easter outfits 2008.

Bed time part two...

These are the same as the others but in blue and grey, with blue trim.

The shorts and shirt together. (I should have put some ribbon on the shorts and added cute little bows to the side.....too bad I ran out of ribbon!)

Close up detail of the ribbon on the sleeve.
The finished shirt. This project was made with scraps from Aiyana's Cinderella costume from October 2007.

Bed time

We made these super cute pjs for Aiyana. I didn't have enough elastic so we did a drawsting for the front. I think I actually liked it better because it gives you a nice bow effect for the front.

Here is the outfit laid out. One of these days I will post pattern number and all that stuff, but I am lazy and it is pretty rare that I don't change a pattern. I really want to learn to pattern make so I guess I am learning by messing around with the ones that I buy.

Close up detail shot of the arm band. (this pattern wanted me to just sew the elastic on the inside of the shirt, but I didn't like that idea, so I got some ribbon, pinned it on the OUTSIDE and threaded the elastic through that.)

Colors of Summer

These are two summer shirts and a pair of shorts that we made. The excess fabric is from Easter outfits from 2008. (there is a pressing water mark on the shorts. I should have washed them before the pics were taken, but well....I am human and I do make mistakes.)
This is the front of the shorts. It has a really nice flat waiste band.

The back of the shorts has elastic for a better fit, without ruining the look of the front.

Red, White & Blue

So I'm really late posting these but here are the Independence Day outfits we made for my kids.

For Christopher:

For Kaitlin:

For Isabella:

It was fun to make outfits for all my kids. I seem to have problems with shorts though as both Christopher and Kaitlin's shorts fit funny. I'm not postive on what was wrong with them but they definitely weren't fit the way I would have liked. Isabella's outfit was, by far, my favorite and fit the best.

Happy Fourth of July

Here are my babies all lined up for pictures. Aiyana's is the only outfit that we made.

Here is the back of it with the cute buttons and the really cute hair tie. I love it.
Not quite a frontal shot, but it will have to do.

Aiyana's Fourth of July

Here is Aiyana's Fourth of July outfit. Melissa donated the stars fabric and the cotton I had on hand. I did have to buy the buttons for $1.60, but I had to do it. I mean look at how cute they make the outfit!

This is a close up of the side tie.

Close up view of cross over bodice. I love the blue top stitching.

The back of the outfit. We "adjusted" this pattern so much. I didn't like having a zipper all the way down Aiyana's back and thought wouldn't it be cute if I just finished the "bodice" just a few buttons? Then I went to the store with Melissa since she needed some red fabric and I saw these buttons. I couldn't say no. Originally I was just going to use some plain white ones. Any thoughts?

See how cute they look? How on earth could I resist???

These are the shorts that we made for Aiyana. There is a hidden side zipper. So the outfit has really nice clean lines.

This is the hair tie that goes with the outfit. We glued rhinestones in some of the stars. Pretty cute. Once the Pony-o is around her hair the fabric gathers really nice.

The entire outfit. I am very happy with this one.
