Shhhhhh

I was on the phone with Melissa one day whining about needing a sign for Landon's room for when he is asleep so the kids don't go in and bother him. So she whipped up this embroidered sign. She created the entire design. I framed it in some green fabric that I had left over from Landon's nursery, and used some tan fabric to hang the sign. All in all I give this a cute rating. I give full props to Melissa for doing this, you can't pay me to embroider, I can do it, but you can't pay me to do it. Plus why should I when my best friend loves to do it and I don't???

Hawaii anyone?

So we were working on this really cute dress for Aiyana (Due to the growth hormone that she is taking and the fact that they just doubled her dose she grows like a weed!) and by the time we got it done the top no longer fit her. But we couldn't just abandon ship so......

We redid the top and made the bottom part of the dress a skirt. Below is what it now looks like.

This is the back of the dress. It is a two piece outfit, but I made it look like a dress for the pictures and for church. It just looks better with this look. I needed a blue shirt for a pair of shorts that she had so I use the shirt with those too. Two birds with one stone. I'm a genius.

A little over the shoulder look. She looks so tired in this picture.
I made four ties of the Hawaiian print for my four boys, and two blue leaf ties for my two oldest. not all of the ties are pictured, but I do have a total of six. I will get a picture of the boys in the ties next Sunday. I should have done it yesterday, but I was a little pressed for time. We also made a shirt for Micah out of the Hawaiian print. I will try to get a picture up soon.

Pink stripes

We made this pink dress for Aiyana. It of course is too small now that it is done, so we will probably take it apart and use the bottom as a skirt and make a new shirt.

For Miss Emma Marie

Emma's birthday was celebrated this last weekend and since I couldn't be there, I sent her this outfit. It is all from scraps of fabric that I have had on hand for quite some time.

The back of the dress fastned with flower buttons.

Close up of the sleeve with the decorative edging that I used with my serger.

The top part of the dress.

A little bow detail for the middle of the bodice.

The close up of the ruffles. Melissa and I didn't agree on the finish. She wanted a narrow hem as per the instructions, but I wanted to push the envelope and do a finished hem with the serger. I was very happy that I did, even though it was hard going against her ideas. I love how the white contrasts so well in the ruffles.

A close up of the edge of the eyelet.

The dress.

Spankies to cover the diaper.

The hair bows. Yeah I wish I had some wired ribbon that would work.
The finished product on Emma Marie.
